内容紹介

　陽子線治療は腫瘍への線量集中性が高い高精度放射線治療の一つとして注目度が非常に高く、国内外で陽子線治療施設の建設ラッシュとなっている。その一方で装置費用の問題や治療技術が未だ研究開発途上の段階である。これらの問題を解決することで、今後、高品質の陽子線治療が数多くの病院へ普及していくと思われる。

Proton therapy is one of the radiation therapies with high precision in which the irradiation can be concentrated on a tumor and attracts interest of many people. A lot of proton therapy facilities are under construction around the world and it can be said that there has been a rush to build proton therapy facilities. On the other hand, there are unsolved problems such as high cost of proton therapy equipment and techniques for proton treatment being still in development. Proton therapy with high precision could spread through many hospitals and institutes in the future by solving these problems.
